These mice are hand-stitched miniatures for grown-ups who collect and display them: dollhouse scenes, shelves, the odd glass cabinet.

They have not been through the official toy-safety route under EU law (the framework behind the Toy Safety Directive, 2009/48/EC). We sell them as collectibles, not as toys for children. You will not find toy CE marking or a toy-specific EU declaration of conformity on them.

Photos and copy on this site describe look and materials; they are not a promise that an item is a safe toy for a child.

Small parts and delicate stitching are not meant for little hands. Keep them away from young children and do not treat them as playthings for kids.

Frequently asked questions

Are Baluzini products children’s toys?
No. We sell them as handmade collectibles and display pieces for adults. They are not designed, tested, or certified as children’s toys under EU toy-safety rules.
Why is there no CE marking as a toy?
Toy CE marking applies when a product is sold as a toy and has passed the required conformity steps. Ours are not offered in that category, so we do not follow that toy route or carry toy CE marking.
Can I give a Baluzini piece to a child?
We would not recommend it. There can be small parts, fragile finishes, and materials that do not suit rough play or toddlers left alone. If you are an adult buying for display, you judge the risk.
What does “not officially tested as a toy” mean in practice?
We have not done the legal and technical steps needed to claim compliance with the EU toy-safety framework for children’s toys (the assessments, technical file, and declaration that apply to toys). General product safety in other contexts is a different matter.
Where can I read the EU rules on toys?
The European Commission and national authorities publish guidance; official texts are on EUR-Lex and the Commission’s consumer-safety pages. We cannot interpret the law for you; use those sources or a qualified adviser.
